At myLinkx we are dedicated to making systems easy to  to install, maintain and use. Home automation should provide a simple, yet powerful user interface to the home owners. It should aim to future-proof the home as much as possible. To achieve this goal, we use the following guidelines when designing our system or working on projects:

• Simplicity:
  Simple, easy to use and intuitive user-interface. Complexity should be hidden behind the scenes when possible. We believe that you shouldn’t need a manual when you approach a control.
• Integrated look and feel:
  Achieve an integrated look and feel for all systems.
• Aesthetic Consistency:
  This should apply to all automation controls. Once a product line or model has been picked, stay with that product line or model throughout the house. This attention to detail brings out a consistency throughout the house not only in terms of aesthetics but also in terms of usability and functionality
• Good value benefit
  Its easy to get carried away in the automation world. Its easy to spend 10 times more money on a system when it only gives a slight marginal advantage over another system. We treat every home as if it was our own and we provide the home-owner with an objective evaluation of options. We also provide recommendations which lean towards providing the biggest value for money.
• System redundancy and Integration
  We believe that every system should work independently. You should be able to interact with it and control all its features through both local and global controls. However, in today’s homes it is convenient to have global controls (through a computer, tablet, phone or touchscreen), which lets you control/monitor all your systems. Even though this integration may be necessary or desired, local controls shouldn’t be abandoned. Everything on the global control should be accessible via local controls. A prime example is the lighting control. If lighting control is provided on a touchscreen, there needs to be a local lighting switch/dimmer to perform the same functions. This way if the touchscreen temporarily goes down, the local system continues working.
• Future Proof
  Future proof for emerging technologies. Even though no-one can predict the future, it’s easy to see industry trends. We follow those trends to ensure that most of the next generation of products can easily be installed in the future.
• Maintainability
  What good is a system if it only works for a few months or takes an enormous effort to maintain? We believe all systems should be easily maintainable. We also believe that it should easy to update and upgrade systems as necessary.

• Simple Pricing
  We hate being nickel and dimed. And we hate when overall costs are not announced up front. We treat our customers the same way that we want to be treated. We will give you all costs up front. In a recent large project, the real customer cost was $8,000 under our original quote costs. This is unheard of in the industry. Most projects cost more than the original quote
